ASTM A270 TP304L 316L Polished Tube,Welded Stainless Steel Sanitary Tubing
SPEZILLA polished tube is manufactured in accordance with ASTM A270 standards. Our tubing is made from cold rolled stainless steel strip whose chemical elements are specially controlled to enhance weldability. The weld bead is cold-worked to a full finished condition, resulting in a virtually undetectable longitudinal weld. Bright annealing to 1,900°F minimum follows in a controlled atmosphere to preserve maximum structural integrity. The tubes are then mechanically polished to a 180 grit (20 μ-in. Ra maximum) interior and 150 grit (32 μ-in. Ra maximum) exterior finish via Sanitube's state-of-the-art process. Tubes are then line-stenciled with OD, wall, ASTM specifications, grade, and heat number.
The demanding environments of the dairy, food, and beverage industries require a higher purity tubing than standard instrumentation grade. Sanitary tubing offers a highly polished ID and OD to ensure cleanliness to prevent particulate entrapment. SPEZILLA Tube offers a domestic tubing product manufactured by Spezilla Tube's laser welding to produce a high quality tube featuring the superior fit and finish quality needed to ensure a problem-free system.
Tube Surface Finish / Polishing:
1. Bright annealed (Mill Finish)
2. Inside bead rolled.
3. Inside polished 240Grit. 320Grit.
4. O.D. mechanically polished 180Grit. 240Grit. 320Grit
Maximum roughness measurement of 32 Ra O.D. and 20 Ra I.D.
Every Tubes is inspected for all around quality & meticulous inspection insures that every tube will be of highest quality & in total compliance with its respective standards.
Finish and repair:
The surface of the welded stainless steel tube must be clean and free of scale and contaminating iron particles. It can be bright annealed but may be pickled, blasted or can be passivated.
Repair by welding. Permitted on <−20% of the weld seam length of welded stainless steel tube if >−NPS 6 and having a wall thickness >−0.200 in (mm). Tungsten-arc welding process is used for repairs, with filler metal to a grade as specified in A 312 (not repeated here). Weld repairs must be identified on the pipe and in test certificate.

Testing and Packaging
To assure strict accordance with ASTM A270,SPEZILLA tube subjected to extensive reverse bend, reverse flattening, flange, and eddy current testing. After successfully completing testing, tubes are sealed with air tight end caps and individually packaged in high quality poly sleeves. Tubes are then packaged in heavy-duty tri-wall boxing. Wood boxes are available for export shipments when specified.
